Anniversary

20/01/2010 - 20/01/2014

Well so far we've made it four years! Yippeeeeeeee!

I love celebrating the anniversary for the day I agreed to be with Jake, because I think it may have been one of the best decisions, if not THE best decision I have ever made.

We got together in 2010 when we were sixteen, we met through School, friends and music. I think we have a very special relationship as we've really grown up together as we've stayed with each other through School, two years of College and we even went to live in Spain for 10 months and made a street performance routine in order to pay the rent for our apartment, and so together have learnt many life lessons. I'm so happy and lucky that he's my best friend! N'aawwwwww soppyyyy!!!

But I have to admit, the best thing and what makes the relationship so special is the fact we are absolutely, unbelievably, undeniably happy to fart in each others presence! ... There's the secret guys ;)

Salt Bar

Salt bar in Hayle is a great little inexpensive bar/restaurant.

It has a relaxing atmosphere with fantastically delicious food and drinks! In the summer it has live bands and events on Friday evenings, which I'd love to go and see!

The menu is fantastic as it has a bit of everything from traditional breakfast to nibbles, amazing sandwiches, vegetarian dishes and grilled meat. The children's menu is also brilliant compared to a lot of other places.

The drinks are delicious too, I'm not a big drinker so I love their non alcoholic 'mocktails' which are great for the price and look beautiful. I loved my summer breeze...

For lunch I had 'The Bookmaker melt' and is was truly amazing: tender rump steak with homemade red onion marmalade, melted blue cheese on a garlic, buttered, ciabatta base with a side salad, homemade coleslaw and a handful of chips.

(mouth is watering right now!)

Take a look at the Salt Bar website for more info and a look at their menu and prices, it's worth it!

20th Birthday!

I had a fantastic birthday this year!
I woke up and had breakfast in my house looking out at sea which was lovely. Then we caught the bus to Penzance in order to catch a train. Now this year I asked Jake for a great day rather than a present, so he planned a series of surprises throughout the day for me... He started with a present.. grr!

A beautiful bracelet! I love it, thank youuuu!!

We took the train to Hayle and began to walk somewhere, on the way I saw pretty swans.

We ended up walking to 'Paradise Park', a wildlife sanctuary with exotic birds, bunnies and farm animals. It was great! I love animals and had a lovely time, although we were the only people there which actually meant we had the whole park to ourselves!

My favourite part was feeding the animals :)

And my favourite bird was the toucan because he looked so animated!

We ended up going to Salt bar for lunch which is a beautiful restaurant in Hayle with a delicious menu and a lovely atmosphere. So we had yummy food and posh drinks!

In the evening we went for drinks with friends and ended the day with surprise birthday cake and home fireworks!!

Thank you for a lovely day everyone!

The Old Grammar School

My mum took me out for lunch the day before my birthday in Truro. We went to a fantastic little place called 'The Old Grammar School'.

I always believe you can tell when a restaurant is good by how busy it gets, and this place is always buzzing.
The atmosphere is lovely with huge wooden tables and funky bar stools, the food is delicious and the drinks are amazing. It has live music events on weekends and holds private events for special occasions.

Mum and I had the same thing which apparently is everyone's favourite: Roasted med veg, grilled goats cheese and pesto on focaccia with chips... yummy!!!

The food is served on a chopping board and the chips in a plant pot, you get plenty of food for the prices (which are extremely reasonable).

The drinks are fantastic, They believe that drinks should be tasty and be enjoyed rather than drunk as quickly as possible.
They have great non alcoholic cocktails as well as normal cocktails with fabulous flavours, my favourite is the mango and cinnamon with ginger beer.

This is my new favourite place! Great for a students hang out spot and fantastic for a night out if you fancy a variety of tasty tapas.

Check out the Old Grammar School website for more info and a look at the menus and prices.

My last day as a teenager.

So my birthday is tomorrow and I thought it would be only right to commemorate my teenage years with a few of my best bits:

Aged 13: [I wanted to be Avril Lavigne.]
Until the age of 13 I lived in Andalucia, Spain. The first of my teenage years was spent moving to Cornwall and finding a school and new friends.

Aged 14: [I discovered music.]
I think 14 for me was was of those awkward ages, I was very shy and didn't know many people yet after making the big move from Spain.

Aged 15: [The parties started.]
When I turned 15 I met loads of amazing people who are still my bestest friends today.

Aged 16: [I fell in love]
This was a great year for me, Jake and I started seeing each other straight after my 16th birthday and have been together ever since.

Aged 17: [I made best friends]
The age I was at College, and met so many like minded and beautiful people.

Aged 18: [The parties were still going!]
The age I left College and was legally allowed to drink. This is when I discovered the joys of how cheap whetherspoons is!

Aged 19: [I went on an adventure.]
This year I moved to Spain for 10 months with my boyfriend Jake, and we had the best year ever!

Sunday 12 January 2014

Hello!

I'm Martha,

I live in Mousehole, which is a tiny but very beautiful little fishing village in Cornwall, I've lived here for the past six years and although it is very pretty, not much happens here and I think I should get out and do a bit more.

I'm going to be 20 in two days and hopefully heading of to Bath spa university in September.
I decided to start a blog because I thought, being so close to 20,  that  perhaps I should start to be a little more grown up which is an awfully scary realisation! So I thought I'd start a scrapbook where I can keep my naughty immature little pleasures all tidied up in one place where I can share them with you lovely people! Like for example, some luxuriously tasty recipes I've learnt in the past few years (I love cake and cheesy burgers). Or some cheeky little style choices I think are fabulous even though I'm only 5ft2" and struggle finding a pair of jeans that fit, I think I can put together an outfit or two! I also love going out to music concerts and to the theatre, so maybe a few reviews will be coming up. And travel, I get bored if i'm stuck in the same place for six months at a time so like to escape now and then, so I promise to let you know about the exciting places I go to.
